Im new in this community and im a HUGE fan of TFP. When i first got into the band, i thought their music was pretty good, and dammit...it is!! But the most shocking revelation came to me when i went to my english class one day and saw RUGGERI on the board. You guys, he's a substitute teacher on the side!! That is nothing short of awesome!!!!

Updates from the .com [16 Oct 2003|06:46pm]

This week, we checked into Clearlake Audio in North Hollywood to begin recording the initial tracks for our upcoming album, due at the end of March. Our tentative title is "Subliminable Messages" (inspired by our president's passion for words that don't actually exist). We're thrilled to have Ryan Greene (NOFX, Propagandhi, Lagwagon, No Use for a Name, etc.) in the producer's chair again. Things are off to a great start! Expect updates in the coming weeks. In the meantime, check out our 'News' section for some photos of the session."

They're Ba-ack [09 Sep 2003|10:42am]
[ mood | excited ]

Finally some Ten Foot Pole news! And GREAT news at that:

"Sorry I didn't write for a while, my wife had our first baby on June 2 and
I've been super focussed on the priorities: changing diapers, teaching the
boy time signatures, writing new songs and working to pay taxes. The
Samuel Nicholas Jagard, June 2nd, 8 pounds 3 Ounces. There's an early photo
on our website for your perusal http://www.tenfootpole.com

Now Sam is double that weight and sometimes sleeps, giving us a chance to
write songs, which is good since we just arranged to have amazing producer
Ryan Greene (NOFX, Lagwagon, No Use, etc) return to start recording our new
album in October. Ryan says the new songs are the best we've ever
written--and he doesn't BS when it comes to song critiques--so we're anxious
to deliver the new album to see what you all think.

I decided to get some help with band business. We'd like to welcome Caleb
Morgan to the TFP team as our manager! Caleb manages several indie bands,
including Glasseater, and among other things promises to improve the quality
of our US tour posters!

Right now we are concentrating on preparing to record. We expect to start
touring later this year--of course we'll announce any shows on this list.

I hope you had a great summer (or winter, for those of you down under).
take care,

Who's excited about a new cd and new tour? Me, bitch.

Millencolin will be rescheduling their US tour for November... maybe they'll ask Ten Foot Pole to support again! Wishful thinking, I suppose.

No one ever posts in here, so I feel obligated to do so. Anyway, Ten Foot Pole should be on Warped just so they can finally tour over on the east coast.

"Diapers and New Songs" Update [26 May 2003|04:05pm]
I guess some of my questions have been answered!

Here is a copy of the email I received from their Yahoo news group (which you can join, by simply going to tenfootpole.com):

TFP is staying home for a while to write new songs as my wife is due to have a baby boy any day now (our first born, Yay!). I promised I'd stay home for a while to help with the domestic stuff, which is cool because I'm really excited to work on the next album--our band dynamic is better than ever and the new song ideas are intriguing.

Thanks to those of you who made our last shows great. We had an amazing time touring the West Coast with Millencollin and Rufio, as well as a fun excursion to Belgium to play at Groezrock. There are a bunch of new photos on our website from those shows. Please check out the photo section at:

We hope to do some serious touring in the late summer and onward. Of course we'll announce any new shows or tours here on this list.

take care,

Long Time No Post [25 May 2003|01:28am]
I feel bad I haven't posted on here in a while, but well there's not always round-the-clock news for TFP. How about some speculation? It's hard for me to say, but Bad Mother Trucker obviously isn't my favorite CD, so do you think they'll come back a little stronger next time? Do you think Dennis having a kid will slow things down a lot? Do you think pretty soon they will retire altogether? Well, I hope so for the first question and not for the other two. Though, it must be tough to have been around for so long, see all these *ahem* talent-less bands get ultra-popular, while they still have to work day jobs. But I like that about them; the fact that they are real people and write real, seasoned music.

Other Artists [09 May 2003|01:06am]
Besides the new NOFX, does anyone know of any other good stuff out right now? What's everybody think of the new Lagwagon album, "Blaze"?

[ mood | creative ]

The new NOFX cd is terrific. It is one of the best cd's I have ever listened to, I suggest everyone goes out and buys it.

NOFX - Re-gaining Unconsciousness

1. 13 Stiches
2. Anarchy Camp
3. Franco Un-American
4. Hardcore 84
5. Idiots Are Taking Over
6. Irrationality if Rationality
7. Mattersville
8. Medio-core
9. Re-gaining Unconsciousness
10. She's Nubs
11. The Seperation Of Church And Skate
12. We Got Two Jealous Again
13. Whoops I Od'd
14. Decom-Pouser
15. Anerucab Errorist

There were supposed to be 14 songs but I dunno. There is a new song that didnt make the album, "One Way Ticket To Fuckneckville" , also a great song. Nofx is such a good band, too bad they are anti Boston.
